Below are samples of projects we have done for our customers:

  • Providing web developing service for Schlumberger's Oilfield Marketing Communication. Being responsible for http://www.slb.com and various internal web applications.
  • Developing a web-application (ASP.NET 2.0, Informix 9.2, SQL Server 2005) to complement a legacy PowerBuilder-7 client/server application initially and to replace it eventually.
  • Enhancing a legacy client/server application to meet new security requirements, add new features, etc. One of the big challenges of this project was that the application owner did not have access to the source code.
  • Modernizing a client's huge code base (FORTRAN, VC++). For example, their thousands of modules FORTRAN modules relied on "implict integer (i - n)" and "implicit double precision (a - h, o - z)". I changed so that all undeclared variables are declared before use. Thanks to our automatic approach, the project that could take many man-years became a four-month project.
  • Developing a payroll system for MY HOA Food market. This business has about sixty (60) full and part-time employees.
  • Developing M7 Visual Intelligence's Isis Software Suite - Isis Sky™ and Isis Earth™. The former provides the onboard (in-flight) ortho processing capability while the latter is the post processing ortho software used to generate even more accurate ortho images. The software was written in Visual C++ 2005 and optimized for multi-threaded, multi-cored, and realtime processing.
  • Installing and configuring a Windows 2003 server for a Houston client. This new server runs SQL Server 2005 and IIS. It is accessible from both Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN). In WAN, this server has a static public IP address. This server came online on 2007-09-27.
  • Developed a new Inventory Control System to manage produce items for MY HOA Food Market.
  • Assisting a client in the chemical industry to migrate its huge software (thousands of modules) from FORTRAN 66 to FORTRAN 77.
  • Developing a large, extremely-efficient commission application for a Houston-based telecom company, Logix Communications, to compute commissions for ninety (90) plus account executives, account managers, senior account managers, district sales managers, regional sales director, account relation managers, and their superiors. Its generated reports are archived for years and are secured with various levels of privileges. The payout results are imported into a payroll system (ADP). The application has been used successfully since September 2001 and has withstood numerous unexpected and new business requirements like a charm.
  • Developing a call-records data warehouse to store and summarize long distance call records for a Houston-based telecom company, Logix Communications. The application stores a million plus records every day into an open-source database, and the huge database is optimized to provide near instantaneous access. Thanks to using all open-source technologies, the company is saving many thousands of dollars in license yearly.
  • Developing Asset Manager (AM) to keep track of resources, addresses, schedules, memos, tasks, and anything that you can think of. A resource can be hardware, software, URL, etc. It is up to you to decide what a resource is. For each resource, address, schedule, memo, or task, you can have a 32-kbytes note. Furthermore, with each resource, address, or schedule you can define an attention date, from which AM will calculate how many days are remaining or have passed. AM is compact, simple, and easy to deploy and use. Just unzip, and then it is ready to run. To help recording notes, a notepad is included. To help with calculation, PowerCalc 4.2E is made handy.
  • Developing techniques and solutions that have saved a Houston-based company, Logix
  • Communications, more than 100000 dollars in database license and improved business results yearly.
